1. Overview. Reddit Media Saver is a Firefox extension for saving selected Reddit media at the user's request. It works primarily within the browser. The inspected release does not implement analytics, advertising tracking, developer-controlled remote telemetry or account registration.
2. Information processed. To fulfill a save action, the extension may inspect the current supported Reddit page or embedded Redgifs frame to identify the selected media, post title, post identifier, gallery position, media source URL, and available image dimensions. These values are used for media selection, resolution checking and file naming. The extension's permissions technically allow access to content on its listed sites; this description concerns how the current code uses that access.
3. Local storage. Firefox's local extension storage holds your chosen download mode, suggested download folder, filename-conflict setting, whether to convert still images to JPEG, and JPEG quality. The saved media files and browser download records are handled by Firefox and your operating system. Browser storage lifetime and backup behavior depend on browser settings.
4. Network requests. Requested media is downloaded from its source, including Reddit/Redgifs and their media hosts. When converting a still image, the extension may fetch a Reddit-hosted image URL without browser credentials, process it locally using canvas, and save a JPEG through Firefox Downloads. Direct video/GIF downloads are made by Firefox from the selected media URL. Such requests necessarily disclose ordinary connection information (such as IP address) to the relevant service and may be subject to its own privacy policy. Requests may fail due to access, region or source restrictions.
5. Data sent to MAXIOL LTD. The inspected version does not intentionally transmit your Reddit browsing history, page contents, saved files or extension settings to MAXIOL LTD servers. No analytics or advertising endpoint is integrated into the extension. Visiting the optional homepage or support website is separate from the extension's download action and may involve ordinary web-server processing.
6. Sharing and sale. The extension does not implement sale of user data or sharing with advertising platforms. Media requests are made to the relevant media host to fulfill the user-selected download. The publisher cannot control independent processing by Reddit, Redgifs, Mozilla or your operating system.
7. Retention and control. Preferences remain in Firefox's extension storage until changed, reset or removed under the browser's applicable behavior. Downloaded files remain where you save them until you delete them; Firefox may maintain its own download history. You can change settings in the extension Options page and remove the extension using Firefox's add-on manager.
8. Children and sensitive content. The extension is a media utility; it does not provide a special child account, age-verification or sensitive-content filtering service. Users remain responsible for the content they access and for site rules.
9. Security. The extension uses browser-provided download, menu and storage APIs. No software can guarantee uninterrupted availability or total security. Avoid sharing account credentials, cookies or private page captures when requesting assistance.
