Reddit Media Saver

Reddit Media Saver makes it easier to save supported media from Reddit in Firefox. Right-click a video, GIF, photo or gallery image and choose Save Reddit media. The extension identifies the selected item and prepares a readable filename based on the Reddit post title.

Highlights:

• Save supported Reddit videos and Redgifs embeds.
• Save GIFs and individual images from multi-image galleries.
• Keep the correct gallery item and automatically number gallery filenames.
• Distinguish galleries with the same title using a short, stable post identifier.
• Prefer the original-resolution Reddit image when accessible instead of a smaller preview.
• Optionally convert still images to JPEG and adjust quality.
• Choose a suggested Downloads subfolder or use Firefox's normal Save As workflow.
• Receive a clear notification when a download cannot proceed or a YouTube embed is unsupported.

How to use: Open a supported Reddit post, right-click the media you want, select Save Reddit media, and confirm the Firefox save dialog when shown. Open the extension's Options page to choose filename location behavior and JPEG settings.

Compatibility: Firefox 140+ on desktop and Firefox for Android 142+ are declared minimum versions. Desktop Firefox has been tested; Android functionality is listed by AMO but not independently confirmed in the project QA evidence.

Limitations: Not every embedded video is a direct downloadable file. YouTube embeds are not supported for direct download. Private, deleted, region-blocked or otherwise unavailable media may not save. Reddit and third-party page layouts can change; some downloads may fail if no valid original is accessible. The extension uses Firefox's download manager and does not circumvent website access restrictions.

Privacy: The extension is designed for local, user-initiated saving. It has no developer-operated tracking or analytics in the inspected version. Standard requests to Reddit/Redgifs media hosts are necessary to obtain the requested file. See the Privacy Policy.

Getting started

1. Install Reddit Media Saver from its existing Mozilla Add-ons listing.
2. Open Reddit in Firefox; if the page was open before installation, reload it.
3. Right-click the target video, GIF, photo, or gallery image.
4. Select Save Reddit media and complete the Firefox Save As dialog.
5. Optionally open Add-ons → Reddit Media Saver → Options to adjust Downloads subfolder, JPEG conversion and JPEG quality.
