Privacy Policy — ChatGPT Done Sound by MAXIOL LTD
Notice revision: 2026-11-01. This notice describes the reviewed Firefox extension version 1.0.13, prepared by MAXIOL LTD. It does not describe the separate privacy practices of ChatGPT, Firefox, Mozilla or the email services used to contact support.
1. Scope and purpose. The extension operates on https://chatgpt.com/* to recognize when a ChatGPT response is in progress or appears to be complete, show an optional Firefox notification, play an optional local sound and mark the tab with a running or unread icon. You do not need a separate MAXIOL account to use it.
2. Website access and local processing. To provide these functions, the extension has permission to access the ChatGPT page in your browser. It examines user-interface elements, response-generation controls, tab visibility/focus, current page or chat title and URL, and limited rendered-response information such as text length or change signals. This means the extension technically has access to content displayed on the ChatGPT page. It does not need to upload chats or create an external conversation archive to provide its features.
3. Data collection and transmission. In the reviewed version, MAXIOL LTD does not receive automatic uploads of your prompts, responses, page content, account identifiers or selected audio files. The extension includes no analytics service, advertising trackers or remote telemetry, and no extension-initiated external API calls were identified in the reviewed code. Its Firefox manifest declares required data collection as none. ChatGPT's own network activity remains governed by ChatGPT's service and privacy practices, not this extension.
4. Local settings and audio. Settings such as enabled/disabled state, sound/notification preferences, volume, repeat count and notification template are saved in Firefox's local extension storage. If you choose a custom sound, the audio file is saved locally in the Firefox profile using IndexedDB, along with metadata such as filename, file type and size. Older extension settings may contain a legacy local audio representation for compatibility. These items are not uploaded by the reviewed extension.
5. Notification content. A local Firefox/operating-system notification can contain a chat/tab title by default. If you edit the notification template, it may also include the chat URL, time or other values you select. Notifications can be visible to someone near your screen or through operating-system notification history, depending on your device settings. Choose a neutral template or disable notifications if you handle sensitive conversations.
6. Sharing, advertising and profiling. This extension is not designed to sell or share your ChatGPT content with advertisers, build marketing profiles or serve targeted ads. No analytics or ad SDK is included in the reviewed source.
7. Retention, choices and deletion. You can disable the extension or change notification settings at any time. Use Clear file to delete a custom audio file stored by the extension. Resetting ordinary preferences does not necessarily delete that file. Removing the extension and clearing Firefox profile/extension data are controlled by Firefox; browser behavior can vary. Tab unread state and animation sessions are held in runtime memory rather than uploaded to a server.
8. Permissions. Site access is needed to detect ChatGPT UI state and change the tab icon. storage remembers settings; unlimitedStorage supports locally stored user audio; notifications displays Firefox alerts. No permission to access all websites is requested.
9. Children and sensitive information. The extension is a general browser utility and is not specifically directed at children. It does not ask you to submit personal details to MAXIOL LTD. Nevertheless, because ChatGPT pages may contain sensitive information, review the notification text and redact personal material before sending support screenshots or diagnostic files.
10. Changes to this policy. This policy may be updated if the extension's functions or data practices change. The currently published notice should identify its effective date and should be updated alongside material changes to the extension.
11. Contact. For privacy questions or suspected problems, use Support or the support email root@maxiol.com (listed in the public AMO entry). Do not include passwords, tokens or confidential chat text in your initial report. Email communications are separate from the extension's automatic data processing.
12. Relationship to OpenAI. ChatGPT Done Sound is an independent extension by MAXIOL LTD and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by OpenAI.
