ChatGPT Done Sound by MAXIOL LTD

Know when ChatGPT has finished — without watching every tab.

ChatGPT Done Sound adds sound alerts, Firefox notifications and easy-to-read tab icons to your ChatGPT workflow. It is designed for people who work with multiple conversations and switch between browser tabs or windows while waiting for a response.

How it works

While ChatGPT is generating a reply, its tab displays a gold rotating ChatGPT icon. A full rotation takes four seconds, including when the tab is in the background. When the reply finishes in a tab you have not yet viewed, its icon becomes green. Open that tab and the original icon returns.

Choose whether to hear a sound, see a Firefox notification, or both. By default, alerts are shown only when the relevant ChatGPT tab or Firefox window is not in the foreground. You can enable alerts for the active tab if you prefer.

Highlights

Gold rotating icon for in-progress replies; green icon for unread completed replies.
Works across multiple ChatGPT tabs independently.
Local built-in beep or an uploaded audio file.
Volume control, optional first 1–30 seconds of custom audio, 1–10 repeats.
Notification templates with the chat title, time and other placeholders.
Test button to preview your settings.
Safeguards against false alerts when opening old chats, stopping manually or moving between stages of a response.

Getting started

Install from Mozilla Firefox Add-ons, open the toolbar popup, turn on Enable extension, choose the reaction mode and press Test reaction. To select an audio file or edit the notification template, open Full settings. Existing ChatGPT tabs may need to be reloaded after an update.

Requirements and permissions

Firefox Desktop 140+, https://chatgpt.com/*. Firefox Android 142+ is the manifest minimum but has not been independently verified. The extension requests ChatGPT site access to observe response state, browser storage to remember preferences, unlimited local storage for uploaded audio, and notification access to display alerts. It does not request access to unrelated websites.

Privacy

Response monitoring and sound playback happen locally in Firefox. The reviewed version sends no conversations, uploaded audio or analytics to MAXIOL LTD. The page state and some content-related metadata are processed locally; notification templates may show a conversation title on your device. Read the Privacy Policy for the precise details.
